Does this sound familiar?

You spent yesterday gardening, cleaning, working, exercising—or simply doing way too much.
You wake up and immediately think:
“Ohhhh. I feel that.”
Your muscles feel tired after a long day.
Your joints aren’t feeling quite as cooperative as you’d like.
Or your body just occasionally feels stiff, achy and overworked.
Sometimes the reason is obvious.
Sometimes you’re apparently old enough to hurt because you slept funny. 😂
Either way, I wanted something simple in my herbal cabinet for those days.

Aches & Pains was created to support:

  • Everyday physical comfort
  • Comfortable movement
  • A healthy inflammatory response
  • Joint and muscle wellness
  • Recovery after everyday physical activity
  • Overall musculoskeletal wellness

Description

When your body is reminding you that you did too damn much. 😂

Worked too hard yesterday?
Woke up feeling stiff?
Spent all day on your feet and now your muscles are letting you know about it?
Or maybe you’re just having one of those days when your body feels a little more creaky than cooperative.
I understand.
Aches & Pains is one of my longtime herbal blends, made with turmeric, ginger, angelica root and white willow bark—four plants with long histories of traditional use for physical comfort.
I combined them into the same simple, alcohol-free glycerin formula I use throughout my tincture line.
No mile-long ingredient panel.
Just four familiar herbs in one little bottle for the days when your body could use a little extra support.
1 fl oz (30 mL) • Alcohol-Free • Glycerin-Based • Small Batch

Why I Made Aches & Pains

Like so many Binford’s remedies, this wasn’t created because I sat down and decided my product line needed more.
There was a need.
Life can be physical.
Work can be physical.
Getting older is definitely physical. 😂
And I wanted something botanical I could keep around as part of my own wellness routine for those times when my body felt overworked.
So I started looking at herbs traditionally used for physical comfort.
Turmeric.
Ginger.
Angelica root.
White willow bark.
I combined the four into a glycerin-based tincture and Aches & Pains became another one of those simple Binford’s remedies that earned its place in the cabinet.
That’s how I’ve always approached this.
Find the problem. Learn about the plants. Make something simple. Use what works for me. Share it.
More than a decade later, that’s still how I think about herbal wellness.

What’s Inside?

No mile-long ingredient panel. Just four plants.
Turmeric
You probably know turmeric from the spice cabinet.
But turmeric also has a long history of traditional use in herbal wellness practices and contains naturally occurring plant compounds called curcuminoids.
It’s commonly included in botanical formulas intended to support a healthy inflammatory response and overall joint wellness.
Ginger
Another familiar kitchen herb with a very long history.
Ginger contains naturally occurring compounds including gingerols and shogaols and has traditionally been used for far more than digestion.
I included it here as part of a formula designed to support overall physical comfort and a healthy inflammatory response.
Angelica Root
Angelica has been used in traditional herbal practices for centuries and has historically appeared in botanical preparations associated with physical comfort.
It’s one of the less familiar ingredients in this bottle—but one I’ve worked with as part of this blend for years.
White Willow Bark
White willow bark has a particularly interesting history.
It naturally contains salicin and related salicylates, compounds that helped inspire the later development of aspirin.
And that’s it.
Organic Angelica Root
Organic Ginger
Organic Turmeric
Organic White Willow Bark
Non-GMO Glycerin + Water
No alcohol. No coconut. No soy. No unnecessarily complicated formula.

How I Use It

Shake well before using.
Take 1–2 droppers (30–60 drops), 2–3 times daily or as needed.
Hold under the tongue or along the gumline for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute, then swallow.
Read the safety information below and check with an appropriate healthcare professional if you take medications or have health conditions that could interact with salicylates.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Why Glycerin Instead of Alcohol?

I made this choice years ago and stuck with it.
I prefer glycerin-based tinctures because they’re alcohol-free, approachable and pleasant to take.
Our glycerin is non-GMO and sustainably sourced, and the formula contains no coconut or soy.
That also makes Aches & Pains an alcohol-free option for people who avoid alcohol for personal, lifestyle, sensitivity or recovery reasons.
Simple as that.

Made the Same Way I Started

Aches & Pains is still made in small batches.
I prepare it.
I strain it.
I bottle it.
I label it.
I pack it.
There isn’t a giant supplement company behind Binford’s.
There’s still a real woman behind the bottle, working with the same kinds of simple herbs she’s been working with for years.
And that’s exactly how I want to keep it.

Is Aches & Pains Right for You?

If you walked up to my market table and said:
“Everything hurts today.”
I’d probably ask:
“Okay…what the hell did you do yesterday?” 😂
And then I’d want to know a little more.
Because there’s a big difference between being achy after spending all weekend working in the yard and having new, severe or unexplained pain that needs medical attention.
If what you’re looking for is an herbal addition to your wellness routine designed around everyday physical comfort, movement and joint and muscle wellness, Aches & Pains is the bottle I’d tell you about.

Another Old Favorite Is Back

The Hero Trio stays at the center of Binford’s.
But after more than a decade of making remedies, I’ve accumulated quite a few products that people still ask me about.
That’s exactly why I created SHOP DROPS.
They give me room to bring back some longtime favorites without rebuilding the enormous catalog I used to maintain.
And for this drop?
Aches & Pains is back.
Some Shop Drop products may stick around.
Some may disappear when the batch is gone.
That’s part of the fun.

A Quick Note From Me

Natural doesn’t automatically mean appropriate for everyone—and white willow bark is one ingredient where that really matters.
White willow contains naturally occurring salicylates and may not be appropriate for people who are allergic or sensitive to aspirin or other salicylates.
Talk with an appropriate healthcare professional before using Aches & Pains if you:
  • take aspirin, anticoagulants, antiplatelet medications or other medications that affect bleeding
  • have a bleeding disorder or history of stomach ulcers
  • have kidney or liver disease
  • are preparing for surgery
  • are pregnant or nursing
  • take prescription or over-the-counter medications that could interact with these herbs
New, severe, persistent or unexplained pain—especially pain associated with injury, significant swelling, weakness, numbness, chest pain or other concerning symptoms—deserves appropriate medical evaluation.
