Herbal & Flower Infused Skin Salve

For life’s little “well, shoot” moments. 😂
A scraped knuckle.
An angry little bug bite.
A spot you’ve scratched one too many times.
A rough patch of skin that’s feeling particularly unhappy.
Or one of those little everyday skin mishaps where you find yourself standing in the bathroom thinking:
“What do I have to put on this?”
That’s exactly the kind of moment Super Cut Stuff was made for.
I combine calendula, chamomile, echinacea and yarrow with rich shea butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil and beeswax to create a concentrated botanical salve for everyday skin care.
It’s simple.
It’s incredibly versatile.
And it’s one of those little jars that’s handy to have around when your skin could use some extra attention.

Why I Made Super Cut Stuff

This is one of those Binford’s products where the name pretty much tells you how complicated I wanted it to be.
Not very.
I wanted one little jar I could keep around instead of needing something different every time my skin got dry, rough, scratched or generally pissed off.
So I went back to plants with long histories of traditional topical use:
Calendula.
Chamomile.
Echinacea.
Yarrow.
I infused them into oils and combined everything with shea butter and beeswax to create a rich salve that stays where you put it.
And that’s Super Cut Stuff.
No twenty-step routine.
No enormous ingredient panel.
Just a really useful little jar of herbs, flowers, oils, butter and beeswax.
Sometimes that’s all I want.
— Ashley

What’s Inside?

Four familiar botanicals. Rich oils. Shea butter. Beeswax.
Calendula
Calendula has been used in traditional botanical skin preparations for generations.
It’s one of those herbs I naturally gravitate toward when I’m making topical products because of its long history of use in preparations intended to soothe and condition the skin.
Chamomile
Most people think of chamomile as something you drink before bed.
But chamomile also has a long history of topical use and is commonly included in botanical preparations made for delicate or uncomfortable-feeling skin.
Echinacea
Echinacea is usually associated with seasonal herbal products, but the plant also has a history of traditional topical use.
It rounds out the botanical infusion beautifully.
Yarrow
Another plant with a very long history of traditional topical use.
Yarrow has been included in herbal skin preparations for generations—which made it an obvious addition when I originally created Super Cut Stuff.
Shea Butter
This is where the rich, buttery part comes in.
Fair-trade shea butter helps soften and condition dry skin while giving Super Cut Stuff the substantial texture you’d expect from a good salve.
Coconut Oil & Grapeseed Oil
These oils help condition the skin while also serving as the base for my botanical infusion.
Beeswax
Beeswax gives the salve its staying power.
Rather than disappearing immediately like a lightweight lotion, it helps create a protective layer over the skin that slows moisture loss.
And that’s it.
The Full Ingredient List
Organic Calendula
Organic Chamomile
Organic Echinacea
Organic Yarrow
Organic Fair-Trade Shea Butter
Organic Coconut Oil
Organic Beeswax
Non-GMO Grapeseed Oil
No mile-long ingredient panel.
Just plants, oils, butter and beeswax.

How I Use It

Start with clean skin.
Take a small amount of Super Cut Stuff and gently massage it into the area you’d like to moisturize or condition.
Because this is a concentrated salve, you really don’t need much.
Add more if needed.
I especially like keeping it around for hands, knuckles, elbows, knees and those random little dry or rough areas that seem to appear out of nowhere.
And yes, it’s the kind of jar I’d throw into a bag for traveling, camping or market season because somebody inevitably needs it. 😂
For external use only.

Why a Salve?

Because I wanted something that would stay put.
A lotion is wonderful when you want lightweight, all-over moisture.
Super Cut Stuff serves a different purpose.
The combination of botanical-infused oils, shea butter and beeswax creates a rich balm that you can apply exactly where you want it.
And because there’s no need to slather it everywhere?
One little jar lasts a surprisingly long time.

Made the Same Way I Started

Super Cut Stuff is still made in small batches.
I infuse the botanicals.
I blend the oils, shea butter and beeswax.
I pour the jars.
I label them.
I pack them.
There isn’t a giant manufacturing facility producing thousands of identical jars behind Binford’s.
There’s still me, some really good plants, and a kitchen.
That’s how these products started.
And that’s how I still like making them.

Is Super Cut Stuff Right for You?

If you walked up to my market table, pointed at some random little spot on your hand and asked:
“Do you have anything I can put on this?”
I’d probably laugh and say:
“Actually… I have Super Cut Stuff.” 😂
That’s really what this product is.
It’s not meant to turn your bathroom cabinet into an herbal emergency room.
It’s simply a versatile botanical salve for everyday skin care when your skin could use a little extra attention.
And personally?
I think every house needs one of those jars.

One of the Old Favorites Is Back

The Hero Trio is the permanent heart of the new Binford’s.
But after making remedies for more than a decade, there are some old products that people remember—and some I simply enjoy making too much to retire forever.
That’s what the SHOP DROPS are for.
Super Cut Stuff gets to come out of retirement for a little while.
So, if you’ve had this jar in your cabinet before…
Yep. It’s back. 🌿

A Quick Note From Me

Natural doesn’t automatically mean appropriate for everyone.
Super Cut Stuff contains botanicals, coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax, so please review the ingredients carefully if you have allergies or sensitive skin.
People with allergies to plants in the daisy/ragweed family (Asteraceae) may be more likely to react to ingredients such as calendula, chamomile, echinacea or yarrow, so that’s especially worth keeping in mind.
If you’re unsure how your skin will respond, patch-test a small amount first and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
